Whether you are experiencing difficulties with a spouse, partner, or significant person in your life these difficulties can impair the sense of closeness we desire. Misjudging, miscommunication and misunderstandings can lead to painful relationships. Communication and listening skills can lack effectiveness in discovering the "mis". We lose sight of what was important and endearing in the relationship leading to doubt and frustration. Exploring the "mis" and the patterns we develop in relationships can help to correct and redirect to find re-connection again. This occurs by talking about the problems here and now, discovering the faulty thinking and unknown expectations that may be hidden under the problems and being open and willing to engage differently. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.
